Three Steps towards the Light

This talk is indebted to one of Ted’s mentors, Joseph Campbell, who emphasized what is common to all world faiths rather than quibbling over differences.

What is the spiritual and ethical core of most world religions?

What embodied actions bring us into the timeless moment where “the One Light” shines through our hearts, minds and bodies?

Like many spiritual and ethical remedies this one is built around three different aspects of our being: what we know (the path of knowledge), who we love (the path of devotion) and what we serve (the path of action).

What I am aiming for is a “Unitarian yoga” that might bring us closer to our “True Nature” or what some call “God”.

Rev. Ted Tollefson has served as a Unitarian Universalist in Minnesota and Wisconsin since 1980. He taught World Religions at United Theological Seminary for over 20 years and now teaches transpersonal psychology at Metro State University.

His spiritual path includes mindfulness, t’ai chi and golf.
